Among the many components in the building industry for many years is the formulation of epoxy. For floor applications, epoxy floor coatings specifically are commonly used, and it is important to know about some facts of this important coating material.

With the pigments in epoxy floor coatings that will expand quickly with intense heat exposure, this coating then is a good fire retardant. As the pigments expand, it serves as a barrier protection that lasts long enough until the fire is put off.
Note that epoxy floor coatings are effective in several surfaces because of its water borne, high solids or solvent borne properties.
